Patti Austin goes back to back with Jaya in what music fans can call a dream soul collaboration on Philippine stage.
Dubbed Christmas with Soul Divas, the Grammy award winner and one of the country’s best-selling female artists are sure to move and mesmerize the Filipino audience on Dec. 6 at The Theatre at Solaire and on Dec. 9 at Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna.
Patti was not exaggerating when she said, “I love performing in the Philippines,” 14 years ago.
The 68-year-old music icon has so far had close to a dozen shows in the country, which she described as home “to the greatest singers around the world.”
This is not her first Christmas show, too.
“I have always loved coming back here. The Filipinos always have this, ‘Hi, Patti,’ greeting for me whenever I see them. They are loyal as fans, and it gives me so much joy performing for them. Christmas is the busiest month for most, and it warms my heart to see them listen to me again and again and again,” she said in an interview in December 2013, when she held a benefit concert for the Yolanda victims.
Meanwhile, Jaya is both ecstatic and excited.
The Philippines’ Queen of Soul remarks, “I am looking forward to this wonderful opportunity of singing with the one and only Patti Austin. Man, we all grew up listening to her songs. And it’s just amazing how she’s been a formidable presence (sic) in the world music scene for six decades. It will be my 30th year in 2019. I’m almost halfway through her musical journey, but I get to perform with her. That’s just wow.”
Both known for their timeless tunes and passionate performances, the ladies are bound to deliver stellar sets.
Will Patti be singing “Say You Love Me,” “How Do You Keep The Music Playing,” “In My Life,” “If I Believe, “All Behind Us Now,” and other Pinoy favorites?
Will Jaya be belting out “Dahil Ba Sa Kanya,” “Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig,” “Laging Naro’n Ka,” “Dahil Tanging Ikaw,” “Dito Sa Puso Ko,” and her other hits?
Christmas with Soul Divas is going to have all the elements you’re looking for in a show—great voices and great songs you will never get tired of hearing.
